Mercedes Castro

Attorney

Mercedes Castro began her career with a unique perspective, bringing 10 years of experience as a Professional Visitation Monitor. This background gave her an acute awareness of the subtle complexities involved in custody matters and sparked her passion for protecting children. She interned with the Juvenile Dependency Court and later transitioned to litigation, representing clients in Dissolutions, Child Custody cases, Spousal Support matters, Property Divisions, Domestic Violence cases, contested Move-Away cases, and Post-Judgment modifications.

A native Californian, Mercedes graduated from California State University, Fullerton, in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Law, Politics, and Society. During her undergraduate studies, she discovered her passion for oral advocacy and litigation by competing on the university’s moot court team for two years. Alongside her speaking partner, she advanced to the national competition in oral advocacy and also received recognition for her appellate brief writing.

Mercedes earned her J.D. from California Western School of Law in 2018. Since being admitted to the bar, she has focused exclusively on Family Law. She encourages clients to seek amicable resolutions whenever possible to avoid the expense and emotional toll of litigation. However, she is always prepared to go the distance when necessary to advocate for her clients’ best interests.

Mercedes believes that family law requires a unique type of attorney—one who is compassionate, empathetic, a skilled mediator, and deeply committed to helping others. Her diverse background makes her uniquely qualified to assist clients of Neumann Family Law A.P.C., guiding them through difficult times and complex legal challenges with care and dedication.
